25You need deliverance. Here is why and How!
Yes, salvation is
free. It is the glorious gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus
Christ. No one can earn it. No one can pay for it. And no one can take it away.
But while salvation is a gift, living the Christian life in freedom is a responsibility. It is the
believer’s journey of growth, maturity, and transformation. And this journey
requires something many have not yet embraced—deliverance by truth.
Before we came to
Christ, we lived under a different worldview. That worldview was shaped by
fear, by superstition, by ancestral beliefs, and by the lies of spiritual
darkness. We believed that everything bad that happened in our lives had to be
caused by a curse or a demon. We were trained to think that if we wanted
blessings, we had to suffer for them—fast for weeks, give costly sacrifices, or
do spiritual favors for men of God. That was the life we knew before Christ: a
life governed by works, rituals, and the fear of unseen powers. But now that we
have received salvation, we are called to a new life—a life of freedom
in Christ.
Yet many believers in
Rwanda today are still living in bondage. They are saved, but not free.
Why? Because their minds have not yet been renewed. They are still
operating with the old worldview. They believe in Jesus, but they continue to
interpret life through the lens of fear and tradition, rather than
through the truth of Scripture. And this is the greatest stronghold the
enemy uses against the Church: ignorance.
The devil knows he
cannot take away your salvation. But he also knows that if he can keep you from
knowing and living the truth, he can keep you from enjoying the blessings
and freedom that come with that salvation. And so he works not by taking
your soul, but by shaping your mind—by keeping you conformed to the world’s way
of thinking instead of being transformed by the renewing of your mind through
the Word of God (Romans 12:2).
Let me give you some
examples that are all too familiar in our churches today.
A woman is told to
fast for 85 days to receive spiritual cleansing. She finishes the fast, but
remains fearful, still wondering if she did enough. A man is instructed to buy
oil from Israel to place in his business so he can attract more customers.
Another woman in her forties is told that unless she gives a financial
sacrifice, she will never find a husband. And so she gives, again and again,
with no peace or joy. Meanwhile, in many churches, believers are expected to
serve the “man of God,” they will earn special favour from God.
None of these
practices are found in Scripture. They are not rooted in the gospel. They are
rooted in ignorance. And as long as we continue to live by these ideas, we may
be saved, but we will remain spiritually oppressed. The devil is not
holding us by chains—he is holding us by lies.
This is why we must be
delivered by the truth. This kind of deliverance is not loud. It is not
dramatic. it doesn't require a middle man. It doesn’t require a microphone or a prayer line. It requires the
Word of God. It requires that every believer take responsibility for their spiritual
growth, not hand it over to a pastor or prophet to carry for them.
It requires us to be on
offense as we scrutinize every thought, ritual, tradition, and take captive every philosophy that adds to the work of Christ on the Cross, that puts itself above God.
So what must you do? You must commit to being delivered from lies by the daily renewing of your mind through Scripture. You must read the Word, believe the Word, pray the Word, and live the Word. That is how freedom comes. That is how you stop being manipulated, confused, and spiritually oppressed.
Let me speak plainly. The biggest advantage the devil has over many Christians in Rwanda is not their sin, but their ignorance. As long as you are ignorant of what the Bible says, the devil can continue to whisper lies that sound spiritual but are actually harmful. He will twist Scripture, promote superstition, and use even church leaders to keep you bound in fear. And if you do not know the truth, you will obey those lies—even while lifting your hands in worship.
You will live with fear, which doesn't come from God.
And so I say this to
every believer: your freedom from lies will not come by fasting more. It will not
come by giving more money. It will not come by traveling to Israel or serving
in church from morning to evening. It will only come by the truth of God’s
Word. Jesus did not say, “You will fast and be free.” He said, “You will
know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
If you are tired of
living under fear, manipulation, and confusion, then open your Bible. Study it.
Let it shape how you think, how you pray, how you see God, and how you live.
Don’t be satisfied with being saved—be determined to live free.
The devil fears
nothing more than a believer who knows the truth. Because when the truth comes,
every lie must fall. And when lies fall, the chains of oppression break. So may
the truth of Scripture rise in Rwanda. May we be a Church not just saved by grace,
but delivered by truth—for freedom in Christ.

Blessed F
Thanks for the word of wisdom. But still some points like fasting, giving are biblically required as long as not idolized or gotten out of the truth.

Great article Brother, a recommendation or maybe a request, as you post the article kindly give the scriptural reference of a given idea , so as to rid the dilemma of: Is this you school of Thought or a reflection of the Scripture acknowledging the sovereignty and infallibility of the scripture as the only source of power and authority.

And again acknowledging that not everyone has spent time in the Word of God as we all should, giving reference will give the reader a good chance to reffer hence prove. But all in all. Great Job brother, May The Lord keep guiding you in noble task. Blessings. Ian Githinji
