To the Young Believer in Kigali

It has been a while since I last wrote to you. To be honest, I have missed checking in on you.

So, tell me—how is your heart doing these days?

Are you still waking up each morning with energy and purpose, or are the pressures of work, school, and life's expectations beginning to wear you down? Have the demands of adulthood become heavier than you imagined?

And how about your relationships?

Is your heart still full of joy when you think about that special person? Is your affection growing into something deeper and more meaningful, or was it simply a passing season? Does he still make you laugh? Does she still make your world a little brighter?

How is your soul?

When you look across the hills of Kigali and see the morning sun rise over our beautiful city, do you still find reasons to give thanks? Or has your heart become clouded with worries, disappointments, and unanswered questions?

Are there battles you have been fighting for a long time? Temptations that seem stubborn? Habits you wish were gone by now? If so, do not lose heart. God's grace has not run out on you. The Lord who began a good work in you is still at work today.

There is always something competing for our attention. New music, new trends, endless conversations on social media, and countless opinions about how life should be lived. Every generation faces distractions, and ours is no different. The danger is not merely being entertained; it is becoming so distracted that we stop paying attention to who we are becoming.

So let me ask you this:

How are you seeing God in your life these days?

Are you growing in your relationship with Christ, or have the worries of life crowded out your time with Him? Do you still believe that He loves you? Do you still believe that He sees you, knows you, and cares deeply about every detail of your life?

My friend, never forget this: you are not an accident.

The very breath in your lungs is evidence of God's kindness and purpose for your life. The fact that you woke up this morning is not random—it is a gift from the Lord. Your story is not over. God is not finished with you.

You still belong to Him.

The same Christ who called you to Himself continues to hold you in His hands. His love for you has not diminished because of your struggles. His faithfulness has not weakened because of your failures. His mercy is still new every morning.

So continue to honor Him. Pursue Him. Treasure His Word. Seek to live a life worthy of the gospel—not to earn His love, but because you have already received it through Jesus Christ.

And when life feels uncertain, remember this promise:

"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31).

Take courage. God is with you in every season. He sees every tear, hears every prayer, and knows every struggle. The road ahead may not always be easy, but it is never walked alone.

Be encouraged, my friend.

The Lord who has carried you this far will carry you all the way home.
